We have made an update to how buyers and sellers connect by phone.
What’s changed
- Phone numbers are no longer displayed on private ads within the carsales app.
- Buyers can contact sellers by calling through the carsales app or sending a message through carsales Messages.
- If a call is missed, a notification will be sent by email, including the other party’s name and the car they’re calling about.
- Conversation can continue using carsales Messages as normal or sellers can return the buyers call via the app.
Why this change was made
This update is intended to reduce spam and scams by keeping personal phone numbers private. Messages and calls between buyers and sellers are now managed in one place within the carsales platform.
Note: To receive or make calls through the carsales app, you’ll need an active internet connection. If your device is offline, you may miss calls. For Android devices, ensure that your app notifications are turned on.
