When you’re selling your car, the photos are one of the biggest factors in attracting buyers. Bright, clear, well-framed shots make your ad stand out and give buyers confidence in your car. That’s why we created guided photos in the carsales iOS app - a free tool that makes it quick and simple to capture great shots of your car.
Why use our guided photos feature?

How guided photos works
- Start creating an ad
- Open the carsales app on your iOS device and start creating your car ad.
- Select guided photos
- At the photo step, select the guided photos option.
- Follow the prompts
- The app guides you through recommended angles and shots (e.g., front, back, interior).
- On-screen frames help you line up the perfect angle.
- Add more photos
- When you’ve taken all the shots you need, you can add extra photos (like close-up and cool features) .
- Upload your photos
- Your photos are saved straight to your ad so you can continue with the next steps of ad creation
Tips for great photos
- Make sure your car is clean and parked in good lighting (we recommend taking photos outside).
- Avoid cluttered backgrounds where possible.
- Take additional photos of any standout features (like alloy wheels or infotainment).
- Take at least 15 photos or more (this increases the buyer’s trust in your ad).
Where to find guided photos
Guided photos is currently only available on the carsales iOS app. You’ll see the option to to use this feature when you start creating your ad.
