The seller hasn't responded to my enquiry, what can I do?

There are two ways you can enquire on a car. 

  • Email enquiry - You can fill in an email enquiry form located at the top right corner of any ad. This form will send an email to the seller. 

  • Phone - You can call or text message the seller directly on the number provided on the ad. If the seller has not provided a phone number, your only option is to send an email enquiry.

We recommend phoning the seller for a prompt response as some people don't check their emails as regularly and may take some time to respond. 

It can be quiet frustrating when a seller does not respond to either your email enquiry or phone calls/text messages. 

It may be that they are a shift worker, have already sold the car and haven't had a chance to remove their ad (in which case we have an automatic expiry period which will remove the ad) or they don't feel comfortable with responding to you (especially to interstate buyers). There could be many other reasons too. 

All phone calls, SMS and emails go directly to the seller and carsales does not contact sellers on behalf of buyers. At this point, it’s up to the seller to get back in touch with you and if you've waited long enough, it's probably best to move on to another car.
