What is an ad rating?

  • Updated

An ad rating reviews the information in your carsales ad and provides tailored guidance on ways you could improve it.

Your ad rating looks at:

  • Pricing

  • Photos and videos

  • Roadworthy information, inspections and build date

  • Comments

You’ll see your ad rating in Ad management.

You can also check the ad rating after your ad has been published.

Viewing your ad rating on desktop

  1. Sign in to your carsales account.

  2. Go to Manage your ad or draft.

  3. Find the ad and select Manage ad.

  4. Select Ad rating.

Viewing your ad rating in the carsales app

  1. Open the carsales app and sign in to your account.

  2. Select Sell at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Select Manage ad.

  4. Select Ad rating.

Will my ad rating affect whether my ad is published?

No. Your ad can be published regardless of its ad rating.

Why can’t I see pricing guidance?

You may see a suggested listing price range while creating or editing your ad.

However, for some cars, there may not be enough pricing data to provide a suggested listing price.

This may apply to:

  • Unique cars

  • Newly released cars

  • Older or classic cars

If there isn’t enough data, the pricing section won’t appear in your ad rating.
