PayProtect FAQs

1. What's happening to PayProtect?

We have decided to temporarily disable PayProtect while we make way for some exciting updates. We can't confirm when it will be back online, so we recommend discussing other payment options with the buyer/seller.

If you have any feedback about this product, feel free to get in touch with us here or give us a call on 13 72 53.

2. How do I start a new transaction?

At this time, you won't be able to start a new transaction using our payments platform. If you have an existing transaction in the system, please contact us to discuss next steps.

3. What other options to I have to pay?

It depends on what the buyer/seller are open to using. Some options include cash, cheque, bank transfer or money order. You may also decide to discuss buying a car privately via finance with your preferred finance provider. If you are buying from a dealer, you may also be able to use credit card or financing options.

4. I'm interested in buying a car from another site and the seller wants to use PayProtect. How do I do this?

We are aware of a scam where a "seller" on a different car classifieds website suggests PayProtect as a payment method. These "sellers" are often based at a remote location interstate, they don't take phone calls, and they need to sell their car quickly (often suggesting that they'll deliver it to you). These sellers are not legitimate and we strongly recommend ceasing all contact with that seller. In general, if it seems too good to be true, it's probably false. You can read more about this scam here.
